‘My work is a bridge between realism and abstraction. I strongly believe that works of art should have a meaning and relevance in society. My early works were a social commentary on the various aspects of society, how the people affect or are affected by the various conditions they find themselves in. In the many years of my studies l was inspired by old masters like Vincent Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, Pablo Picasso and Monet. Studying these artists and the various art movements helped me discover myself and encouraged me to work towards my own style.’

For the past twenty years, Valentine has has exhibited in 7 solo and 25 group exhibitions in Zimbabwe, Cape Town, South Africa, Finland and in the Czech Republic.
